Ethanol is a non-specific poison, indiscriminately hampering input and output from the nervous system while attacking the nerves themselves and the tissues in which they are embedded. It is one of those occasional symmetries of fate that ethanol has PRECISELY those effects on metabolism, on individuals, relationships, and societies that are deliberately ascribed to 'drugs' by the wishful thinking and deliberate misdirection of ethanol-pushers (brewers, leisure conglomerates and hoteliers, and 'the' governments whose wages they pay) ... mainly it burns out brain cells, literally dissolving nerve fibres in direct proportion to dose and frequency (ie concentration in the blood). Ethanol promotes mindless violence of the most brutal and degenerate sort, destroys personal health and family life, attacks the unborn, and is at least as addictive as any other popular narcotic.

Ethanol poisoning (known more popularly as 'popping out for a quick one') reduces the nerves' ability to conduct signals, introducing a time-delay into the self-regulating (balancing) mechanisms of the organism, producing oscillation. (This is why drunks sway about). Sensitivity and self-control diminish proportionately: stupefaction supervenes.

In larger doses, ethanol causes unconsciousness and death. Chronic use ƒ and any kind of use inevitably becomes chronic -- creates more systemic failures and circulatory disasters than this precis can accommodate. The metabolic and behavioural dysfunctions accompanying ethanol use, such as aggressiveness, incompetence, poverty, and impotence, are legendary. The effects on all areas of life are uniformly disasterous.

Since the functional impotence can be more short-lived than the stupefying effect on imagination and judgement, and since most casual sex is associated with alcohol consumption, alcohol is a primary agent in the spread of AIDS and other sexual diseases such as herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis, tuberculosis, which are now available in new antibiotic-proof strains, evolved as a result of the inability of VD patients to interrupt alcohol consumption during treatment with antibiotics.

Nor is its thrill all that its proponents pretend, deriving as it does from the fact that the stupefied brain is too numb to know what little fun it is actually having ('I can drink whiskey all night without it affecting me') and to suspect how facile and barren tonight's mordant wit, devastating analysis and uncanny insight would sound tomorrow, were it not written in wind and piss and gone down (and all around) the toilet long before dawn.

It is part of the propaganda which saturates the alcohol-based culture of 'Western Democracy' that small amounts of ethanol are beneficial and only 'abuse' is harmful! This is no more true of alcohol than it is of nuclear radiation: small amounts of ethanol stupefy and larger amounts stupefy more. In the stuporous state, alcohol consumption becomes automatic (sub-conscious) and one drink always leads to another: consumption always exceeds intention.

To control humans and assure its own propagation, the grape-fermenting yeast organism has evolved an alliance with the coffee bean, the tea bush, and the tobacco plant, so that a cup-of-coffee-'n-a-cigarette in the morning sets a citizen up for a day of unimaginative, destructive, stereotyped, psychotic 'employment', which sets him up for alcohol at night, which vitiates the restorative function of sleep and sets him or her up again for caffeine and nicotine in the morning ...

The monumental hypocrisy of the ethanol pushers ('the' government) in pursuing their drugwar is so breathtaking as to provoke immediate comparison with nazism -- as do the figures of death, disease, violence, and the horrible and interminable waste of talent, of time, of effort, of resources, of potential, of wisdom, of decency, of life associated with this chronic parasite on mankind.
